Murphy's Law wrt Blog Conversion

So it's April 2009 and Yahoo 360 never fulfilled its promised improvements by "end of 2008". Clearly, they've abandoned their users. I haven't blogged in a long while simply because it's too painful to do so, with Y360 being sluggish and buggy and generally craptacular. I also haven't gone down the road of gradually copy-pasting each post one by one, because that would be excruciating beyond belief. I've been stuck in blog-limbo (blimbo?).

I hunted around on the internets to find out what other, more clever people have done in this situation. I found a bit of software someone wrote (in .NET... kudos to you, sir) to export a Y360 blog into WordPress format. It even included all the comments! Score! The WordPress-to-Blogger conversion, however, was not so easy. I tried a few different tricks out there, none of which worked 100%. Well ok then, WordPress it is.

The new blog is located here. Although all the old entries have been imported, there's definitely some clean-up that needs to be done, after which I'll blog-flurry (blurry?) to bring all my fan-base up to speed on my exciting (bahaha) life. As they say on Metro... we regret the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Murphy's Law wrt Blogs

Welcome to the home of my new blog. There won't be any new posts until I am able to export my crappy Yahoo 360 blog into a format that can be imported over here, a functionality which will allegedly exist before the end of 2008. In the meantime, please keep on reading at Ye Olde Blogge.

The day after I created this blog last week, Google e-mailed me this:

Your blog at: http://murphyslawincarnate.blogspot.com/ has been identified as a potential spam blog. To correct this, please request a review by filling out the form at [url]. Your blog will be deleted within 20 days if it isn't reviewed, and you'll be unable to publish posts during this time. After we receive your request, we'll review your blog and unlock it within two business days.

Before I could even muster up one post, Google took me down. I could not have devised a more appropriate beginning to a blog called MURPHY'S LAW INCARNATE.
